Welcome to my Return 2 India web site !

Returning to India is a dream to many NRI around the world and a plan for lot of them. Few get lost in X+1 syndrome and postpone the plans every year until one day they realize it is not going to happen and throw their towel.

In my humble opinion, R2I is not an easy idea. Those who think it is easy and not plan, are planning to fail. There are various issues like finance and investments, job search, finding a good school for kids, find a good house or apartment to settle down.

Some Plan to return to the same city they were born and grown and some return to another city where the job opportunities are plenty ( like Bangalore). Building social network in this new city is a key for them.

There are several things we need to learn again to go back and leave in our home country. This is ironical but there is no escape. There are some things we need to unlearn too. Some of us will be taken by reverse culture shock, when we return back for permanent settlement. Unlearning few things will go long way in making the transition smoother.

All is not easy or done after return. We might have left behind our retirement plan funds, taxable mutual funds, bank accounts. Some of us have to file taxes in more than one countries, manage accounts abroad.

We have message boards to discuss all these subjects and plan carefully and learn from those who already returned. Some of the lessons learnt could benefit us tremendously in our plans.

I opened this web site more than 3 years back to publish some articles I wrote in SIFY forum of return to India. Further I am proud to be the founder of R2I Finance forum and later R2I Club.

Thanks for finding me in the web space; browse around this web site at your pleasure. Sign in my guest book to say 'Hi!' to me. Your suggestions and comments are welcome always. You can also reach me by email.
